Rakyat kita yang terperangkap dah selamat balik. Jom tengok apa yang menyebabkan sistem penerbangan lumpuh!! Eyjafjallokull Volcano, Iceland.

Eyjafjallajokull, Iceland’s jaw-breakingly named volcano of the moment, is keeping its hold on the news. Just as the paralysis caused throughout Europe’s airline industry has eased, the wind changes and Eyjafjallajokull is back in the headiness again. On 23 April 2010 Iceland’s airspace (which largely escaped the initial chaos) was closed and atmospheric dust spread southwards again to affect the airports of northern Scotland. So what’s the fuss about?

Siri bercakap dengan Posmen

Di sebuah warung kaki lima, tiga orang sahabat sedang menikmati kopi pagi sambil bercerita tentang perkembangan karier masing-masing. Mereka bertiga memang mempunyai sebuah profesyen yang ampuh sekali.

Johny berkerja sebagai pengurus pemasaran Fedex Malaysia. Bard pula pengurus syarikat DHL cawangan Mongolia. Manakala Mat Nor adalah pengurus besar Pos Malaysia cawangan Brickfield.

"Jadi," Johny menyisip kopi putih, " ekheemmm... macam mana kempen terbaru kau di Mongolia, Bard?"
Bard senyum dengan lesung pipit. Membetul-betulkan tali lehernya. Dia percaya tali lehernya lebih mahal daripada Johny punya. "Hmm... not bad. We've got a lot of challenge to deal with local authorities. But, well, you know DHL. We create solutions!"
Johny ketawa ala korporat, "Wah, bagus. Tapi kat Malaysia, Fedex still number one. That's why kau lari ke Mongolia." Pap! Johny tepuk bahu Mat Nor di sebelahnya yang ralit makan roti canai cicah susu pekat manis, "Betul tak Mat Nor, haha."
Mat Nor angkat muka, "betul betul." Dia kembali tunduk menyuap roti canai. Celaka korang cakap omputih berdesup.
"Alah," Bard memaut jemari tangan meletak kedua siku di atas meja, "we are almost there, wait and see. With 6.5 sigma implementation next month, we will double up our efficiency."
"Really?" Johny buat-buat berminat, "Apa target?"
"For deliveries intra-country, we will promise eight hours delivery time. If later than that, no charge." Bard kemudian senyum bongkak.
Mat Nor angguk-angguk ala-ala kagum. Dalam hati: berlagak macam sial kau ye Bard, dah tak reti cakap Melayu?
"Oh," Johny berbunyi (nama sebenar dia Sani), "Lapan jam. Lembab sangat tu. Kat Malaysia ni, Fedex dah achieve lima jam dah lama." Johny lap-lap mulut yang sedang senyum simpul pakai tisu.
Bard terkesiap, "Oh, tak, aku rasa bukan lapan jam tapi tiga jam." Bard akhirnya cakap Melayu.
"Iye ke..." Johny sengih sinis.
Fuh, Ravi, cuba kamu cerita kita punya motto berapa jam."
"WOooh, itu macam ka?" Ravi tunjuk muka beria-ia.
 Bard dan Johny sengih aje.
"Itu tak cukup bagus," kata Ravi lagi.
Bard dan Johny tersentak, bulat mata mereka. Tak cukup bagus?
"Kita punya pos Malaysia lagi cippat, memang sikit pun takbley lawan." Ravi sengih, "Kita punya surat, besok hantar... semalam suda sampai."
Ravi dan Mat Nor kemudian gelak macam orang gila.

How To Handle Rejection...

On the way to reaching any worthwhile goal, chances are you will be faced with rejection. How you deal with this rejection is often the deciding factor that will determine whether or not you reach your goal.

Many people unfortunately take rejection very personally and view it as a reflection of their self worth. For example, when you apply for a job and are not successful, it is easy to start thinking things like, "I guess I’m just not good enough…"

In order to overcome the ‘rejection barrier’ and reach your most important goals, you must learn to dismiss these negative thoughts.

But of course that is easier said than done!

In this weeks edition of Dare To Dream I’d like to share with you a simple idea that can help you eliminate the negative feelings often associated with rejection.

Imagine for a moment that you are facing a very large wall. In front of you are a number of bright red doors.

Behind one of these doors lies your goal. This could be your perfect job, your ideal partner etc. Your job is simply to keep opening doors until you find the right one.

Now let me ask you a question…If you were single and you knew that your perfect partner was waiting for you behind one of these doors, how much sense would it make to open one door and then say, "I’m not good enough to find someone special so I’m not going to open any more doors…"

In this simple example it’s quite clear that the act of opening doors should have absolutely no bearing on your personal self image. It is simply something you have to go through in order to find what you are looking for.

If you can adopt a similar approach to dealing with rejection in the real world, you will become unstoppable!

Achieving your dreams is a numbers game. If you have the courage and determination to knock on enough doors, you will find the right one.

Action Steps:

The next time you are faced with rejection, instead of taking it personally and criticizing yourself, think of the red doors and say out loud, "This was just a wrong door" and move on to try the next door.
